With all the “wiki’s” popping up online, you knew it was only a matter of time before there was one developed on our favorite subject: tailgating. Introducing TailgateWiki.com! It was developed loosely on the concept of Wikipedia, where everyone is an expert on something. The thousands of tailgaters that flock to stadiums all across the country are experts when it comes to their local stadium, tailgating rules, traditions, and hidden hints that only those that tailgate regularly know.

TailgateWiki.com is a place to share that information to not only “pay it forward” for your fellow hometown tailgaters, but for visiting fans alike. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to follow your team on the road, and still tailgate like you were at your home stadium? Rather than spending hours of research trying to find the right information on when gates open, if you could use charcoal, or what items are banned in the parking lot, you now have a one-stop-shop, where all that information is stored. The Perfect Fantasy Football Draft Setup

Over the weekend, we held a fantasy football draft for one of my leagues in perhaps the ultimate drafting scenario. I’m talking a screening room with over 150” of screen real estate, power reclining chairs, FanDraft 2010, and an ESPN-style ticker. Unfortunately, my iPhone camera did not do this setup justice. And for those of you who have yet to discover FanDraft, I can’t recommend it enough. This is my second year with the product, and I won’t conduct a live draft without. It keeps your draft organized, and running on time…err, ok so there is no such thing that can keep a live draft going on time, unless you figure a way to hook up FanDraft to the seat shocker.

Rawlings Inks Multi-Year Deal with NFL for Tailgating Products

Rawlings Sporting Goods® is reporting that they’ve signed an exclusive multi-year deal with the National Football League for NFL-branded tailgating products, including tent canopies, grills, and chairs.

This will basically consolidate the NFL’s tailgate rights landscape under such quality brands such as Coleman®, Rawlings®, Bicycle® and Shakespeare®. The new tailgate collection, which in addition to canopies, grills and chairs will include a number of non-exclusive tailgate products, including coolers, stadium seats and footballs, will merchandise under the new TLG8™ brand umbrella and its “Real Brands for Real Fans™” tagline. The collection is set to launch April 2011, aimed at creating a “one-stop shop” for all NFL tailgating needs.

Although this could be a great thing for tailgaters, it could potential put an end to many Ma and Pa tailgating shops. I guess we’ll have to see how it all plays out when the deal kicks into play in 2011.
