What goes on the SEC Network? Tailgating shows...

ESPN Senior Vice President of Programming Justin Connolly, who will oversee the network, envisions programming such as studio news and analysis shows, tailgating shows, classic games, and profiles on SEC athletes, personalities and the league's history.

"We are looking to put what makes the flavor and passion of the SEC onto the screen," Connolly said.

Mizzou Move to SEC Ends Tailgating Tradition

The University of Missouri’s move from the Big 12 to the Southeastern Conference will mean the end to a long-time halftime tradition, and it means that fans needing a drink or a smoke will just have to wait until after the game.

The school currently allows fans to leave Faurot Field at halftime to grab a drink or smoke a cigarette as long as their tickets are scanned both when the ticket-holder first enters the stadium and again after halftime.

But SEC rules don’t allow fans to leave and then re-enter the stadium for football games.

In Big 12 country, a lot of people make a habit of running back to the parking lots to top off the tanks.  I suppose that's why they make flasks!

TailgateWiki: Keeping Tailgaters Informed

With all the “wiki’s” popping up online, you knew it was only a matter of time before there was one developed on our favorite subject: tailgating. Introducing TailgateWiki.com! It was developed loosely on the concept of Wikipedia, where everyone is an expert on something. The thousands of tailgaters that flock to stadiums all across the country are experts when it comes to their local stadium, tailgating rules, traditions, and hidden hints that only those that tailgate regularly know.

TailgateWiki.com is a place to share that information to not only “pay it forward” for your fellow hometown tailgaters, but for visiting fans alike. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to follow your team on the road, and still tailgate like you were at your home stadium? Rather than spending hours of research trying to find the right information on when gates open, if you could use charcoal, or what items are banned in the parking lot, you now have a one-stop-shop, where all that information is stored. TailgateWiki.com was started a few months ago, and some team pages are chock full of great information and insider tips. Check out a sample tailgate at the Chargers Tailgate Page.

You even can earn achievement badges based on your activity and how many pages you update. So get over to TailgateWiki.com, and start adding what you know.

Tailgating with the Eye of the TIGER

LSU Tailgate VanThere is something about SEC Football and tailgating that just go so well together. And there is something about ex-Swat vans and tailgating that just seem to go hand-in-hand. Well, at least to the Beyl’s and their “ELLESYOU” tailgating crew. They took a 1977 Chevrolet P20 step van, which isn’t winning any LEED contests at 14 MPG and a top speed of 65 MPH, and turned it into a heckuva conversion project.
