University of Texas at Austin To Charge For Tailgating
AUSTIN (KXAN) - The University of Texas at Austin will likely impose a fee for tailgating parties at Centennial Park before football games.
UT Parking and Transportation Services Director Booby Stone said Friday that the proposal is still being fine-tuned. No decision has been made on what tailgaters would be charged.
"We will be charging for reserved tailgating spaces in Centennial Park for the upcoming season and are in the final stages of solidifying our approach," Stone said.
Stone said more details will likely be available by mid-May and that no changes are planned for tailgating parties on other areas on the campus.

The Gater Tail - Portable Bar and Refreshment Stand
The Gator Tail is not just another all-in-one tailgating solution. This single axel trailer is an actual portable bar that can be hauled to any tailgate location. Features include an onboard grill with 5 burners, trays to ice down 5 cases of beer, 12V power, air compressor, and a 250-watt Pioneer surround sound system. The best part is that the unit can fit in your garage when not in use. You may remember that we featured the creators of this tailgate machine back before they won the 2009 PepsiMax Maxiumum Tailgating Gadget Award, and if you want to check more of their work, visit them at PortableEvents.com.
Monday Morning Wake Up Call: BCS Edition
Alabama’s dominate performance over Florida on Saturday sent them into a Battle Royale with Texas on January 7th. This will be a helluva battle on the field as well as off of it, as it pits together two tailgating powerhouses!

Texas may have played a cupcake, but she was just happy to escape this first week injury-free...unlike her OU buddy in the above picture.
Texas Longhorn Fan Tailgates In Style
Creative Mobile Interiors (CMI), a custom conversion company in Grove City, Ohio, recently delivered a high end custom Sprinter restaurant chain owner complete with all the fixins’. The Sprinter van was built to lock horns at University of Texas tailgate parties and for extensive travel with friends and family. Starting out on a 2008 170” extended cargo cab chassis, CMI added such tailgate essentials as a refrigerator and microwave; bathroom, and of course, an extensive audio/visual system.
The audio/visual package includes a Pioneer multimedia system and two 26” LCD TV monitors. One of the monitors flips up and down from the ceiling using motorized power lifts. The other monitor is mounted to the wall towards the back of the Sprinter on the driver’s side. This allows for TV viewing from any place in the Sprinter’s main cabin area. CMI removed the factory stereo and replaced it with the Pioneer system which consists of a CD/MP3/DVD/GPS and back-up camera. Other built-in amenities include a KVH In-Motion satellite dish, wireless internet, gaming jacks, and wireless headsets.
Playboy Names Miami Top Party School of 2009
Last week, Playboy unveiled its annual "Top Party Schools" list, and perennial '80s party school, Miami, ended up on top. The magazine collected information from its staff writers and photographers, campus representatives, and thousands of college students. Rankings were "scientifically" based on bikini (scenery), campus, sports, sex, and brains. Yes, they added brains this year.
Anytime you release a list such as this one, the debates can rage on for months, or until next year's list is released. So let the debate begin!
Here's the 2009 Top 10 Party School list from Playboy:
